Learn Everything about Content at our next Events

There is just a week left to book a place for Content and Commerce in the Entertainment and Media Industries, hosted by Adobe. In the report Adobe conducted with Econsultancy earlier this year it highlighted that content can no longer be considered simply as a means of approach or another channel, but rather a tool to draw consumers into a site and keep them there. Content has moved beyond a broadcast model to the basis of a customer/brand interaction. Effective content deployment requires monetisation, optimisation, customer insight, personalisation and so much more. Each element involves companies learning new ways to distribute, place and market content so that companies can reach their consumers and customers on their own terms, becoming a key marketing platform. Don't miss the Adobe event on Content and Commerce in the Entertainment and Media Industries. Click here for more information and to book a place. This event is for Media and Entertainment companies only, no vendors or agencies will be admitted. All registrations are subject to approval.

Jivox Delivers Advanced HTML5 Feature Set With Release of Latest Jivox IQ Ad Platform
With #flashpocalypse looming, Jivox, the leader in personalized digital advertising and marketing, today announced a major upgrade to its Jivox IQ Dynamic Ad Platform that delivers an advanced set of HTML5 features, including the first-ever functionality for building complex animations and video in HTML5.

Available worldwide today, Jivox's dynamic ad platform eliminates the need to convert Flash to HTML5 and instead enables customers to build sophisticated multi-screen ads from the ground up in HTML5.

"It was clear back in 2013 that the writing was on the wall for Flash," said Jivox CEO and founder Diaz Nesamoney. "We have been developing our HTML5 feature set ever since, delivering today a wealth of functionality that brands and agencies can use right away. Not only does Jivox IQ easily handle HTML5 basics, but now our customers can set the pace for programmatic creative with lightweight digital ads that run complex animations and video on all screens. My advice to brands and agencies worried about #flashpocalypse is simple: run -- don't walk -- to your nearest HTML5-based ad platform and breathe a giant sigh of relief."

The Jivox IQ Dynamic Ad Platform is already compliant with the draft of the IAB's "Display Creative Guidelines," to be released later this year, and incorporates a broad set of new HTML5 features including:

Support for Advanced Animations
With Jivox IQ, users can now create and serve all the complex and sophisticated animations that previously required Flash, ensuring their most engaging ads will be viewable across all screens. Animations include Slide, Fade, Zoom, Resize, Move and more, and all boast configurable speed, duration, triggers and easing effects. The timing of animations can also be completely controlled, allowing users to animate in parallel, in sequence or based on time.

Dynamic Video Player
Jivox IQ enables ad producers to create video that will run seamlessly on Chrome, Safari, Firefox and all other HTML5-compliant browsers. Additionally, the video player supports a wide range of inputs, including uploaded videos, VAST tags, VPAID tags, LiveRail and other programmatic video tags.

Integration with HTML5 Development Tools
Jivox IQ can now easily upload the HTML5 output from a wide variety of tools, including Adobe HTML5 Canvas and Adobe Edge Animate, Google Web Designer, and hand-coded HTML5.

Single-Click HTML5 Deep Upload
One of the main challenges of HTML5 development in comparison to Flash is that the output in HTML5 is not a single file (e.g. a Flash SWF file) but rather many individual files, each needing to be individually uploaded to the ad server and the linkages established correctly. To address this challenge, Jivox IQ now enables users to upload an entire directory of related ad files, including separate image files, font files, video files, and more, in a single click. This single-click, deep upload function ensures that all linkages and paths are automatically resolved and that there are no browser cross-domain violations.

Progressive Asset Download
HTML5 code, while excellent for cross-device rendering of ads, tends to be heavy compared to equivalent Flash code, yet traditional rich media platforms tend to treat HTML5 ads the same way they treat Flash ads -- they download a single monolithic and heavy file with all the assets and code, often causing significant delays and discrepancies with 3rd party tracking. Jivox IQ uses an intelligent Content Management System (CMS) to host and serve assets dynamically, only fetching and serving assets that are visible and needed to render the ad. This method of "on-demand" downloads ensures the lowest possible k-weights of the ad and is ideal for programmatic environments where latencies can be significant.

In addition to these new features, Jivox IQ continues to deliver the industry standard for core HTML5 functionality. Jivox IQ is the only ad platform that detects and switches to HTML5 rendering as needed, ensuring ads are viewable on any device from a single tag. In addition, Jivox IQ eliminates the time-consuming and error-prone process of coding and development in Flash and ensures the correct size and form factor of every ad is delivered to each ad position and device.

Continues Nesamoney, "One of the challenges with HTML5 ads is the k-weights of the ads become problematic with most ad-serving platforms. The challenge going forward is not merely to develop engaging HTML5-based ads with animations and video, but rather to create ads with assets that are progressively downloaded as users engage with various creative elements of the ad, all while keeping k-weights low. Jivox IQ takes care of this using a CMS system that hosts assets until they are ready to be served. This capability is poised to change the game for digital advertising and marketing in this new HTML5-centric world."

Nesamoney will be addressing the topic of "HTML5 and Ad Production" at the IAB Europe's annual DMEXCO (Digital Marketing Exposition and Conference), to be held September 16 and 17, 2015, in Cologne, Germany. For more information please see the conference website at http://dmexco.de/2015/en/index.html or contact Jivox at info-us@jivox.com.

As well as the full logo of the company's name, it also plans to use four dots in its signature blue, red, yellow and green colours and a single, multi-coloured capital "G" to represent it.

Google has made its Android Wear operating system compatible with Apple's iOS mobile platform. This means that users will be able to pair Android-powered smartwatches with iPhones for the first time. The move greatly increases the potential market for the devices, and could pose a challenge to the Apple Watch itself. But one expert suggested demand would be limited because Google was only able to offer a restricted set of features.
