Fooled by a Super Computer
A super computer  has fooled humans into thinking that it is a 13-year-old boy and has become the first computer to pass the “iconic” Turing Test, originally the test was devised in 1950 by computer science pioneer and Second World War codebreaker Alan Turing, who said that if a machine was indistinguishable from a human, then it was "thinking”.

Until now no computer had ever passed the Turing Test, which requires 30% of human interrogators to be duped during a series of five-minute keyboard conversations. 'Eugene Goostman', a computer programme developed to simulate a 13-year-old boy, managed to convince 33% of the judges that it was human, the university said. The successful machine was created by Russian-born Vladimir Veselov, who lives in the United States, and Ukrainian Eugene Demchenko, who lives in Russia.
Bitcoins were mined by US hacker
A researcher has been suspended from a US national agency for misusing supercomputers to mine bitcoins at two different universities.

It seems that more than £4,760 worth of bitcoins had been generated from NSF-funded computers. Both universities, which have not been identified, determined that this was an unauthorised use of their IT systems. It is claimed that the unnamed researcher used remote access software and that he was conducting a test.
Instagram introduces ads globally
Photo-sharing service Instagram is planning on expanding advertising to the UK, Canada and Australia later on this year. Instagram that has more than 200 million users and which was bought by Facebook in 2012, had already introduced ads to its audience in America in November.
Photo-sharing service Instagram is planning on expanding advertising to the UK, Canada and Australia later on this year. Instagram that has more than 200 million users and which was bought by Facebook in 2012, had already introduced ads to its audience in America in November. In a blog post, Instagram said advertisers had positive results which in some cases were well above the ad industry's average for performance. From that moment it has expanded to include approximately 20 firms, such as Taco Bell.
The process of introducing advertising has been slow, partly because Instagram's users are concerned that the experience of using the app could be disturbed by too much advertising.
