Mobile contactless payment grew substantially in 2016, with 38m transactions made throughout the year, mainly on lunch and drinks at the bar. This suggests a growing trust from consumers in contactless technology.  Curbing your night-time cravings is much easier now, with the launch of an app which lets you know where the closest open (or 24-hour) McDonald’s is to your station, great for those ‘just one more for the road’ moments that you’ve probably paid for on your contactless card!

 

On Tuesday 28th March, we will host the Ecommerce Club London Working Lunch: New trends in search marketing, successes and failures at Malmaison, Farringdon. John Lewis is investing £4 million to introduce mobile technology in-store, enabling staff to answer customer questions about products and availability on the spot.


John Lewis to work with Virtualstock to create a direct supply channe
John Lewis is adopting new technology to manage its supply chain for omnichannel retailing. Legendary Investments, an investor in Virtualstock, announced that the retailer is to develop a direct supplier channel built on Virtualstock’s The Edge Platform.

Snapchat beats expectations as stock jumps 44% on stock market debut
Snap Inc, the owner of messaging app Snapchat, went public with shares initially priced at $17, with stocks jumping 44 per cent to US$24.48 on the first day of trading.
