Did you miss Digital Sparks last Week?

At last week’s Digital Sparks: Omnichannel Success networking event we heard from a set of great speakers including, dotmailer’s Matthew McCelland with focus on real life examples of clients 'getting it right' and the technologies and collaboration opportunities out there that can take email marketing automation into the future.
We then moved onto to Social Noise, with Miguel Pereira whose talk looked at how today’s digital brands must comprehend and embrace the technology’s available around for businesses, because competitors, partners and customers will be using it. Creativity alone is simply not enough. We need to deeply understand what are the tools, platforms and devices we can use for the digitalisation of our business, our brand or our communications.
Next Kieron Tarling, Chief Executive Officer of  Visible Computing spoke to the audience about Webkeys and how they are known for driving your customers from something physical like a direct mail piece or printed handout to your online presence. But thats only part of the story. Kieron showed how utilising patented webkeys unique ID’s you can deliver personalisation and analytics that can supercharge your campaigns to increase results.
Joe Doveton, Head of Conversion, Oban Digital spoke of Heroes of Conversion: how CRO can save your omnichannel bacon. In Joe’s session, Oban Digital's Joe Doveton looked at how brands should be using CRO techniques for multichannel success and tells you how to utilise the business heroes and neutralise the data denying villains to drive cross platform ROI.
And finally Andy Beale, Head of Digital and MultiChannel Development, Tesco F&F Clothing gave us a great overview of how inspiring and engaging F&F customers is key to understanding their behaviour and developing new online and in-store services alongside developing a successful multichannel strategy. Working with Cisco and an eco-system of niche partners has helped F&F bring concepts to life in live pilots exploring innovative ways to communicate with customers to serve them better.

Over the past week The public has been warned about a Russian website which shows thousands of live feeds to baby monitors and stand-alone webcams and CCTV systems across the world and currently provides 500 feeds from the UK alone. Some of the images include, an office in Warwickshire, a child's bedroom in Birmingham, a home's driveway in Nottinghamshire, a gym in Manchester, a pub in Salford, a shop interior in London. Some of the feeds show a static image but did not otherwise appear to be working, however, the site
has been named and shamed but many Media Hubs will not publish the name due to the image content which they display.

Amazon signs contract with Royal Mail
Internet retailing firm Amazon and Royal Mail have joined forces to have customers' items delivered to post offices for collection.
Internet retailing firm Amazon and Royal Mail have joined forces to have customers' items delivered to post offices for collection. Royal Mail's parcel operations have suffered from intense competition since the group was privatised last year and services like Amazon's own delivery service could dent its business by as much as 2% in the short term. Now, Amazon customers will be able to have their parcels delivered by Royal Mail to 10,500 post office branches and the addition of the Royal Mail Local Collect "click and collect" facility means Amazon will have 16,000 pickup locations in the UK.
